in between homes

We haven't been able to officially move into the new house yet due to renovations that are taking WAY longer than we had anticipated. So we are living with my parents until everything is ready. Since we've been living with them Emmett has stopped sleeping through the night. I am starting to understand other mother's complaints about not getting sleep! I guess I was spoiled for awhile since Emmett started sleeping through the night very early on. I really hope he'll get back to his old ways soon. For his sake and for mine. Otherwise, Emmett is really enjoying staying at my parents house. There is always someone giving him attention and there is always action going on. He has been talking like crazy lately. That boy seriously has a lot on his mind! I can't wait to hear what's really on his mind. He has also started eating rice cereal and is soooo very close at sitting up on his own. Every day I feel like he is becoming more and more observant of the world around him. He seems to take everything thing and is very interested in what people are doing and saying. He loves feeling different textures and looking at different objects. The other day he played with a piece of plastic packaging for about 25 minutes. It's amazing how little things can be so interesting. My little boy is really getting big. In 10 days he will be 6 months old. I can't believe that he's almost a half a year old. I know that everyone warned me how time can fly, but woah boy did it ever! I feel like it was yesterday when I first saw him smile. These milestones just keep on coming. And it is all so exciting! I just wish sometimes time would slow down it's pace. The more he grows, the more I love getting to know him. He is such a fun, laid back, quirky, loving little boy. I love the sound of his laugh and his silly little squeals. He makes me smile a million times in one day. I love being a mother so much and I feel so lucky to be Emmett's mom.
