should we get a dog??

my friend, brya came over today and brought her dog, millie. i am kind of in love with her dog and so was emmett! millie was so good with him. she even hung around while he was pulling her ears, pinching her, etc.. what a sweet dog. millie is scruffy and has the cutest face (two winners in my book!) even though i know we shouldn't get a dog anytime soon, it sure was fun to see a cute dog running around our house. i told brya i would happily take care of millie anytime she went out of town. i grew up with dogs, so i always love being around them.

i'm starting to think about weaning e off of binky's sometime soon... he's such a binky boy now, i can see it being a rough go. it would be so great if he could just wean himself??

new words

Emmett has always been a VERY verbal baby and oh so loud too. He is seriously the loudest baby I've ever heard. From very early on, he's always liked hearing his voice. In the morning he's stayed in his crib almost an hour, totally content, just yappin' away to himself. The nice part is that it does keep him occupied! He's been saying dada, daddy, mom, and momma for a long while now, but some new sounds have been coming from my little guy lately. He calls our cat, poco, "ka" and he says, "nana" for banana and he can say, "booby." Yes, you read it right, he can say, "booby." It's pretty funny! He was always a good nurser so perhaps that's how he picked it up... who knows.

sweet e is 11 months

it's crazy to think that at this time a year ago, i was huge and was so eagerly awaiting to meet emmett. and now, even though it feels like time has flown by, i feel like i have known my boy forever. it's hard to remember life without him.
