wagner's farm

every summer i teach a summer program with my mom where we take 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders on field trips every day. today we took them to wagner's farm and eric and emmett came too!! it was so much fun! e liked seeing all of my students and looking at all of the different farm animals. i think that the chickens were his favorite. one of my little girls gave e couple of silly band bracelets and he LOVED them. so cute.

Arlington Horse Track

we are so lucky to have such fun things nearby. We can literally walk to arlington horse track which is always so much fun even though i almost always loose. i did win once yesterday. eric and i always like to go for the long shots which most of the time don't work out in our favor. we'll have to try out a new strategy next time. e loves walking around there and looking at the horses. he was talking up a storm to the horses... who knows what he was saying! they also had a band playing which is always a big hit for the musical e man.

E hangs out with the dudes

Eric, Emmett and I met up with our guy friends from high school and all went frisbee golfing in Palatine. It was a blast! I used to play regularly when I lived in Iowa and now I found 3 different courses nearby which I am super stoked about. E really was great during the 9 holes that we played. he carried around frisbees and watch us all play. After golf, we had a bbq at our place. Emmett had a hard time going down for bed because he was loving hanging out with all of the dudes so much.

Poco aka "Goco"

Emmett is such a little sponge, taking in information every day. He has just been amazing me with how much more he seems to understand what we are saying and what words he can pick up on. I wanted to make a list of his words that he has been saying so that I won't forget this fun time:
dada and mama
1st word: nana for banana
2nd word: boob
ba for ball
ba-ba for bottle of milk (he says it now when he wants it!- it's amazing!)
bu-bu for bubbles
goco for our cat, poco
uh oh for when he drops something
lodi-lodi for who knows what! he loves saying this over and over again though
la la (another unknown)
recently he's been saying doggy

just this week he now knows how to imitate a monkey and a dog.

Poco went missing for a few days a couple of weeks ago. E was wandering around the house saying, "Goco, Goco!" The morning she came back, we brought her to greet him after his nap.
