flexibility

this summer it's been me and only me with the boys and it's exhausting but so fun. every day i try to think of fun things to do and soak up summer as best as i can with a high energy toddler and baby. as much as i want to get out every day and do something different, i have come to learn (with trial and error) the importance of having some "normal" days at home so that both boys can have their regular naps. if we go out to do something, it usually conflicts with one of their naps and sometimes both boys end up skipping naps. i want my boys to be flexible, able to go with the flow, nap in the car, skip a nap once in awhile (without a meltdown), but also have some schedule on some days. i'm finding that happy medium, making for a very fun summer with happy boys! so far this week we've had beach time, northbrook court playtime and pool and out to lunch fun. yesterday was our blah stay at home day. we've got more exciting adventures (and naps) to come for the rest of the week! here we go!
