4th year anniversary

Eric and I celebrated our anniversary this year with a little day trip to Illinois Beach State Park in Zion, Illinois. It was beautiful! We hiked 2 different trails. One was a gravel path through prairie, forest and wetlands and the second trail was a mud path through prairie. We shared a bunch of laughs and it was really nice being together as a couple. We can pretty much have fun wherever we are together. We have really been into the show, Dual Survival on the Discovery Channel. These two guys, one military trained and the other is hippie (he doesn't even wear shoes!) show their survival skills as a team as they are put into different situations/environments such as a desert, swamp, mountains, etc. Eric and I pretended that we were in a survival situation and tried figuring out what sources we would use from nature to survive. It didn't hurt that we had a water bottle filled with water, a lighter, and cell phones to add to our chances of survival. :)

Eric is known to do pranks, especially on me. He's gotten me so many times, I could never keep track! When we were on the trail and I was leading the way, he threw a bunch of orange peels to the side of me and I screamed sooo darn loud!!!!! I thought that an animal was jumping out! It was hilarious! He also grabbed some leafy, soft, tall prairie grass pieces and kept sweeping them along my neck as we were walking! I thought bugs were attacking me! Whenever I try to prank Eric, I always end up cracking up with laughter before I execute the plan and blow the whole thing all together...

It's so funny that throughout our whole day together without Emmett, we couldn't help but talk about him. He is such a huge part of both of our lives, how could we not talk about him? On one of the trails we were walking on, Eric spotted a cute frog along our path. Emmett has been nicknamed our little froggy ever since he was born because of the way he bends his legs like a frog. It was like he joined us!

Here are some pics from our hike, including the little froggy.
